Obama rejects Republican's offer to meet on debt

The White House rejected an invitation to President Barack Obama from Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell to meet at the Capitol on Thursday to talk about deficit reduction. White House spokesman Jay Carney said the administration knows Republican positions about taxes and spending and has met repeatedly with Republicans including McConnell. Obama insists that revenues be part of a deal to cut the deficit and raise the U.S. debt ceiling.
